Scholarships are grants that are earned by students in order to enter in a college that would normally be financially unavailable to them. The first thing that pops into Mr.Woodards' head if you ask him about scholarships is a "paid education".There are five classes of scholarships;
Merit:These are usually the largest scholarships. They are earned by achieving high grades, having impressive athletic abilities, unique artistic ability, and/or community service/involvement. Ex: Florida bright futures.
Need: These types of scholarships are earned by students who have greater financial needs than most people, most of the time these scholarships still have to be earned by exceptional academic successes: Florida Student Assistance Grant Program.
Sociology: The qualifying factors of this scholarship are race, religion, and or national origin. They are designed to help keep schools diversified and help immigrants get college level education. Ex: The imagine fund.
Institutional: Scholarships that fall under this category are offered by the university that a student wants to attend. FCCJ offers this type of scholarship given you meet the financial requirements.
General: These scholarships are given for many types of reasons. They can be found through various websites and institutions’: Juniata College Mary Francis Beckley Left Handed Scholarship. For more info talk to your councilor or research it on the web. Go braves.

GET MONEY!
Lately the phrase "get money" has been gaining popularity. You here it in songs, you see it on shirts, and you hear people saying all the time, " I get money."
Well as many may have noticed the economy isnt doing too hot right now, and the slow done in the money deparment is really hitting close to home in the duval county school system. Electives are getting cut, some classes dont have desk, some are using dated textook that have seen better days, and finally ask anyone and they will tell you teachers should get paid way more than they do.
But what can we do!? Well Mr. Burton said that "some business will sponser the school in exchange for advertisemnts, Especially if you go to a business owned a by a T.P. alumni." To sell advertisemnts talk to some of your elective teachers or and get the right forms.
To improve T.P. its going to take a combined effort from the whole community.
